Debadging

Post by RichCheshire on Tue Feb 21, 2012 12:31 am

Hi guys

Has anybody removed the WIND badge from the rear of the car? If so how easy was it to do?

A hairdryer and old plastic card will do the trick then just the sticky to remove,.

I removed mine using dental floss and a product to remove glue residue from a car.

IMO its safer then scrapping with a plastic card over your car.

without heating the badge you have more chance of damage to the paint ,the plastic card does not touch the paint it just helps to to remove the badge ,done this many times,.

Why do people want to take the badge with word 'Wind' off the car?
I am quite happy with it being called that.
My husband and I are interested in the weather so it is quite appropriate and causes no problems.

I don't dislike the name myself. One or two daft comments from work colleagues, but nothing to worry about. Let them laugh as I enjoy the open top motoring. Can't hear them then anyway!

It gives the car a whole different 'clean' look with the huge letters off as well as the ones from the garage.

I wouldn't buy any car which has badges on from the dealer. If they have a sticker in the rear screen, that comes off immediately. If want to pay me to advertise, that's one thing, but expecting me to do it for free. No Way!

Yea, true.

Also replaced the licenseplate with a clean one without one saying renault-retail.com on it (or something like that)

I think mine might have the name of the supplying dealer on the number plate now you mention it. Here in the UK though all number plates are supposed to have the name of the person (or garage) that printed the plates, for anti-cloning reasons. It is very subtle too, so they have got that advert in for free!
